Public Notice - Proposed Lease - "Area 18" Derby Airport

The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is considering a ground lease proposal involving a portion of the land situated within the Derby Airport (designated as “Area 18”). The Shire is providing notice of the proposal and inviting submissions (as per Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995).

Property: The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is considering a ground lease proposal involving a portion of the land situated within the Derby Airport (designated as “Area 18”).

Lease Term: 10 years + 10 year option.

Parties Involved: The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley and Frontier Helicopters Pty Ltd (under new ownership) propose the provision of a lease area within the Derby Airport. The lease will enable Frontier Helicopters Pty Ltd to operate its aeronautical business from the Derby Airport.

Market Value: $18.15/m² (based on an independent market valuation of 11 October 2021).

Consideration: The commencing rental is $15,304.68/annum+GST, giving a total potential transaction value of $306,094 (exclusive of rent reviews).
