Aboriginal Environmental Health
The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley’s Aboriginal Environmental Health Unit (AEHU) services 54 communities over an area of 118,560 km². The unit provides a range of environmental health based services to Aboriginal communities within the region.
The Aboriginal Environmental Health Unit (AEHU) undertake a wide range of responsibilities within and on behalf of Aboriginal Communities. This includes municipal service regulation, food premises inspections, wastewater system approvals, community education, the Dog Health Program, housing and infrastructure reporting, participation in the Environmental Health Worker training program, community planning and design, advocating for services and funding, and a range of other services.
