Derby

Apex Park

Located on Rowell Street in Derby, this park is in a residential area near the school and features modern playground equipment, bench seats and shade trees.

Lytton Park

Located on Loch Street, next to BP Colac, this park features a fenced playground that has a traditional play equipment, rope climbing frame, traditional and basket swings, slides, a play rocker, tornado spinner and rope merry-go-round. The playground equipment is suitable for all ages from two years upwards.    

The park also has open grassed areas and shade trees. The playground area is covered by a shade cover during the dry season, and there are public toilets a short distance from the playground.

Madi’s Playground

Madi’s Playground is located on Coolibah way. It was established thanks to the support and help of the community in memory of a young resident.

There are benches and tables, a footpath, grassed area, shady trees, and a pirate’s playground. The playground features a sandpit, ladder, and a big slide. Across from the playground is two swings. Suitable for ages two years upwards.

Playground update-

Madi’s Playground (Coolibah Way) structure is currently closed due to safety concerns. While the issue is being investigated, the playground will be closed until further notice.

Nicholson Square

Nicholson Square is also known as the Derby Oval or Town Oval. It is located on Loch Street near the corner of Ashley Street.

The oval is fenced all around and has a big grassed area with shady trees. There is a playground suitable for ages four years upwards. The playground has traditional play equipment, slides, sandpit, monkey bars and a wobbly bridge.

On the corner of the oval towards Woolworths and the blue courts outside there is a fenced cricket nets. There is a canteen, change rooms and toilets that are available for hire. Public toilets are only open during events.

Wharf Park

Located at the end of Jetty Road, adjacent to the Wharf, this park includes the Centenary of Federation Pavilion which was opened on Sunday, 9 September 2001. The centrepiece of this construction was an indigenous design mosaic on the floor which reflects the history of the region. The Wharf Park also has access to public toilets and plenty of parking.

Stanley Square

Surrounding the Shire's Administration Building, Stanley Square offers large open, grassed areas, shade trees and bench tables. It is also home to our ANZAC memorial and is adjacent to the Civic Centre.

Fitzroy Crossing

Fitzroy Gardens

Surrounding the Fitzroy Crossing Visitor Centre on the Cnr Flynn and Forrest Rd you will find Fitzroy Gardens. This is the perfect location for a picnic; with the large grassed area offering plenty of shade. Visitor Centre provides chairs and tables for public use during office hours and plenty of parking can be found in the Visitor Centre Car Park.

Fitzroy Crossing Park

Adjacent to the town oval located on the Cnr Forrest and Fallon Rd is the perfect spot for all children big and small to explore and play on the adventure playground. This area is a common area for exercise or taking your beloved pet for a stroll, also a superb location for a picnic or watch the local footy match under the shade of the beautiful African Mahogany Trees.

The playground includes a climbing frame, swings, see saws, musical pipes and merry-go-rounds. The play area is covered with a shade sail.
