27 September 2024                                                                                                    For immediate release

The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley held its monthly September Ordinary Council Meeting yesterday in Fitzroy Crossing.

This meeting marked a special occasion as it was the last formal Council meeting for Amanda Dexter, who has served as our Shire CEO for the past five years. In this time, Amanda has continually supported Council and the staff of the Shire, not only fulfilling her role as CEO but going above and beyond through managing the response and recovery of the Kimberley Floods, one of the largest natural disasters WA has seen.

In addition, she has secured funding for and has overseen many other major projects across the Shire, including those focused on youth services, community development and economic growth. Her contributions have significantly improved the region and laid the groundwork for continued development and opportunity in the future.

Amanda has built and led a team of dedicated staff with the Shire and her commitment to Council and her staff is truly commendable.

Our Shire and Council would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Amanda and wish her the absolute best in her new role as CEO in the Shire if Carnarvon.
