Statement of Condolences

On behalf of the President, Councillors and Staff, Shire of Derby/ West Kimberley would like to offer their sincere condolences to the families and friends on the sad passing of AK.

AK, a respected Walmajarri Juwaliny elder, a founding member of Kimberley Aboriginal Law and Cultural Centre and fierce advocate of the Fitzroy Valley, was involved in many aspects of our community both in the Shire and the wider Kimberley. We would like to acknowledge the remarkable contributions AK made to the Shire during her time on Council between 2007-2011 and 2014-2015.

We honour and thank AK for her many hours of service to our community, her people and the Shire as a whole.
