The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is pleased to announce the appointment of Tamara Clarkson as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective 11 October 2024. Tamara steps into this role following the departure of former CEO Amanda Dexter, ensuring stability and continuity during the transition as the Shire undertakes the recruitment process for a permanent CEO.
Tamara, a valued member of the Shire’s executive leadership team, brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of local government to this interim role. Her leadership will provide the guidance needed to maintain seamless day-to-day operations as the Shire navigates this period of transition.
“I am excited to bring my passion for local government to this role and to continue collaborating with Council, staff and the wider community,” said Ms. Clarkson.
The recruitment process for a permanent CEO is already underway, with the Council committed to selecting a leader who will drive the Shire’s vision and future growth.
